Project Introduction
The main cavern complex of the Shatin Cavern Sewage Treatment Plant covers an area of approximately 14 hectares and has a total volume of approximately 2.3 million cubic meters. The major scope of works includes: (a) construction of two ventilation buildings and other associated buildings; (b) construction and installation of cavern ventilation system and associated electrical system; (c) construction of emergency drainage pipeline; (d) carrying out other associated works; and Implement environmental mitigation measures and related environmental monitoring and audit plans for the above projects. Construction work began in 2018 and is expected to take 11 years to complete.
